PRIMASTAR
INFORMATION
The Nissan Primastar panel
van is Nissan’s version of the Renault Trafic, developed and
built in the UK. The Primastar is offered in short and long-wheelbase
forms with
standard and high roof options and 2.7 and 2.9-tonne gross vehicle
weight. In summer 2006 a revised Euro IV-compliant engine range was
launched, together with styling and specification improvements. The
modern engines offer more power and torque with cleaner emissions. Side
doors and a range of different tailgate configurations add to the
choice. Two new common rail diesels were introduced into the Primastar
range in 2006, both 2.0-litre units, tuned for 90 or 115hp. The
2.5-litre common rail unit was revised and now delivers 145hp and 320Nm
of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, but the 115hp
2.0-litre and the 2.5-litre engines are available with optional
TecShift automated manual transmission. Load volume starts at 5.0 cubic
metres for the short wheelbase Primastar with standard roof and rises
to 8.4 cubic metres for the long wheelbase model with high roof.
NAVARA
INFORMATION
Nissan has
rewritten the rule book for pick-ups in the UK with the introduction of
the all-new Nissan Navara. All Navaras have the same 171 bhp 2.5-litre
intercooled common rail turbodiesel under the bonnet, but the really
good news is the 297 lb/ft of peak torque (at 2,000rpm). Navara is
covered by Nissan's standard three year/60,000 mile warranty and
servicing is every 18,000 miles.
